Day to Regroup.

After my adventure and travel filled weekend I took today to do a couple errands and relax. Mostly sleep. My day started in the afternoon after catching up on some much needed sleep. London really takes the energy out of you. I think it was the constant checking that all my belongings were with me (since we traveled with our stuff for the night during both days) tired me out. As well as the perusing of all locations and running on and off the "underground" basically their metro/bart/underground railway system.

After a week I already needed to wash some laundry. Which was unfortunate for me since it costs 4 pounds just for one load (3 to wash, 1 to dry), needless to say I made most of my laundry fit in one load. Basically anything that had color was considered "colored", and was all put into one load. Laundry here not only takes money, but a bit of walking. The launderette is down the hill from my flat, and it took three trips to put the clothes in the laundry, move them to the dryer and then take the clean clothes back. The weather on these trips became progressively more moist and cold as a unusual cloud came low into campus (picture below). But on my way back I saw a bunny outside my building (picture below) which made my day.

I just finished "ordering" my groceries for basically the next three weeks. It took forty pounds, but plenty of food will be headed my way on Tuesday. Lets just say, I won't be eating out (ever) in the next couple of weeks. But I'm pretty excited, I got tomato paste, tomato sauce, garlic and onions (my mom's staples of any meal) so I'll be set. Here it's common to order groceries online with friends because you save time, the shipping is basically free and you don't have to pay for transportation, plus you save the multiple bi-weekly trips. (Side note of transportation: On one of our underground trips in London we walked up 193steps/ five floors because the crowd for elevators was ridiculous.) During the ordering process this question and answer occurred often, "You can freeze that right?" "You can freeze everything...I'm pretty sure". All I can say is, I got a gallon of ice cream for a pound, and I'm pretty stoked since you can pay a pound for just one ice cream bar. Plus, ice cream is even more of an acceptable treat due to all the walking.

In between my day time activities studying physics has been activity. But I still need to go through the final lecture and prep for my lab tomorrow.

In closing, this weekend has been amazing. But I'm pretty excited to just stay local this next weekend.

Cheers!
